LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) – A man fatally shot his friend with a high-powered rifle in a dispute over a $20 bet on the South Carolina-Clemson football game, authorities said Sunday.

James Walter Quick, 42, was charged with murder in the shooting of Richard Allen Johnson, 43. Johnson died from a single shot to the chest, according to a preliminary autopsy Sunday.

The two had bet $20 on the annual game, with Quick taking South Carolina, which won 31-28, and Johnson taking Clemson, Lexington County Sheriff James Metts said. They drank beer all afternoon and watched the game Saturday at Johnson’s home, and began arguing about the bet after the game.

Metts said Quick went to his car, got the rifle he normally uses for hunting and fired one shot, hitting Johnson in the chest. Deputies arrested Quick.

Quick was being held Sunday in the Lexington County jail, awaiting a bail hearing. The sheriff’s department said he did not yet have a lawyer.

So Gagan what are ur views on the current state of the panth? What about the Kashmir conflict, civil war in lebanon/iraq? should the chinese govt grant refugee status to ‘illegal’ immigrants coming from a totalarian North Korean state? Do they have the right to send these individuals back. Should the middle east follow Hungry as a model for a successful modern state, which has always had a seperated church and state policy with 99% muslim population. Should we be worried with the rhetoric Hungry is showing towards the West and Israel. Should we be alarmed that Mein Kempf is a bestseller in Hungry? Or are you against Western foreign policy in general, and support militias/armys within states such as Hezbollah and Shiite cleric Muqtada Al Sadr’s Al Mahidhi army. Oh and thanks for the t.v bejinnn.

rather than saying ‘other castes are konjoose’ or ‘other castes are bitches’ wouldnt it be better to say its a un-sikh thing to do, rather than saying a un-jatt thing?

uhh sikh/singh is thrown at anyone wearing a kirpan.. so how u gonna classify it like that.. stereotypes are there for a reason.. and dun even start with how its traditional this that.. ppl born in canada.. raised in a semi- cultural, and sometimes even equally religious family have parents who immigrated and hence continue to foster the same values within their offspring that were rampant during the times of their upbringing. A fine example of this is how someone of the carpenter class, known as mistrys, is the least likely to spend an inkling of money on anything, however necessary it may be. There are more than enough stories and anecdotes to back this up, but the jatt qualities instilled in me by my parents are still alive therefore I am not one to point fingers and publicly humiliate others. I am sure Gagan has more than enough stories on the topic and will thus end that here. All i gotta say is that the context might have changed.. back then the mistry might have been kanjoose in the amount of chah he put in a cup, the modern mistry is kanjoos about the amount of pizzas he feeds a crowd. same shit.. diff pile.. thats all.
